Responsible Fleet
In the footsteps of our decades-long sustainability efforts came the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), which is a mixture of urea and deionized water sprayed into the exhaust system, within 100% of our delivery trucks. This simple addition helps to meet local emissions legislation of reducing the levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emitted from the exhaust system. The NOx is then broken down into harmless nitrogen and water molecules, which helps preserve air quality by eliminating smog, a rise in greenhouse gasses and acid rain.
PCI’s Sustainability Committee makes sure all vendors are consciously aware and put best practices and actions in use to support green initiatives.
