April is Earth Month and this year’s observance marks the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day. To mark this important milestone, we are reflecting on the work we have done and the progress we have made on our sustainability journey. At Postal Center International (PCI), we have always been led by the guiding principle to “do the right thing, every time.” And, as a result, sustainability has been a key part of who we are and what we do.
We Power Sustainability
Our teams take great pride in managing the economic impact of our operations against those of our environment. We proudly support industry leading sustainability efforts; we leverage energy efficient equipment and forward-thinking technology that save on printing inks and processing chemicals. We have a robust recycling program that covers items from toner cartridges to printing plates to, of course, paper. We use non-toxic chemicals, vegetable-based inks and paper that is sourced from well-managed forests and processed in mills that adhere to strict environmental standards. And as the first company of its kind to be triple certified in South Florida, we are proud to offer FSC, SFI, and PEFC papers and to support industry-leading sustainability efforts.
Celebrating from a Distance
Most years, Earth Day events encompass a wide range of group activities from beach-wide cleanups and tree planting to debris removal and citywide recycling initiatives. While many of us are once again celebrating Earth Day from home, there are some fun, DIY-inspired ways to meaningfully do our part for the health and welfare of our environment, including planting a garden (indoors or outside); recycling yogurt pots and fruit cartons as seed trays; taking a walk outdoors; and even channeling our feelings into art using anything from everyday household items to poetry to song to whatever emotionally connects us to the environment.
